Registration Information

 

Online registration is an effort to make school registration efficient for parents. It's simple and easy, and you can register your children from the comfort of your home at your convenience.

 

Students who plan to attend any school within Mobile County Public School System must register online.

Kindergarten & New Student Registration


New students are those who have never attended a Mobile County Public School. All incoming Kindergarten students and new students should follow these steps for registration. If your child is new to Ella Grant but has attended another MCPSS school, please use the returning student registration link.

 

  • Enroll online as soon as possible
  • Upload the following documents to the online registration website:   

 

  1. Parent/Guardian Photo ID
  2. Student Certified Birth Certificate
  3. Student Social Security Card
  4. Certificate of Immunization (Alabama)
  5. Two Current Proofs of Residency in Guardian's Name - 1 must be a lease or mortgage, and the other must be from the approved list on the registration website.
  6. You will need to come into the school to fill out local school paperwork, including health and transportation forms. This must be done prior to the start of school.

Returning Student Registration


Students who are returning to Ella Grant or who have attended another MCPSS school and are new to Ella Grant are considered returning students. Follow the steps below to register your child for school. It's good to register early if you know your child will be returning. Contact the school with any changes or updates.


Students Currently Enrolled and Returning to Ella Grant

  1. Complete online registration.
  2. When online registration is complete, your child will be placed on a roll.
  3. Students with address or guardian changes should contact the school for registration completion.
  4. New students to Ella Grant who are currently enrolled in another MCPSS School will be required to show new proofs of residence. These can be uploaded in online registration.

Additional Information & Resources

Two current proofs of residence (within 60 days) in the parent/guardian's name are required each time a student enters a school for the first time, or each time he/she changes his/her address, new proofs of residence are required. If a parent/guardian cannot provide proof of residency, for example, due to living with a family member or other living situation, they can receive assistance through Student Support Services. The student must be enrolled in order to receive assistance.
